Do you just not care, writing the note any which way and sticking it on however it ends up? Or do you specifically always stick it that way?

I think you are, like I did, interpreting “sticky side down” as meaning “sticky side against the surface to which you’re attaching the note.”

I don’t want to speak for the OP, but I think they meant “sticky side down” as “still against the wall, but at the bottom of the note, rather than with the note hanging from the sticky side at the top.”

You and the commenter to whom I was responding have very similar usernames.

I want to make a joke about that, but I’ve got nothing. I can only think of something about command line flags or something about “O” faces and I don’t have any way to make either of those funny in this context.

          Please clap laugh.

We’re the same user. They’re just at the end of a good night out.

usually because I wrote the note before unsticking it from the pad, realize I wrote it upside down (or sideways), and I’m not gonna be arsed to rewrite it

To remind my co-workers that we’re all just clinging to a speck of dust floating through an incomprehensible nothingness, and the concept of “up” or “down” is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

I literally do not give a fuck which orientation the temporary note is.

At work, we only have post-it notes that are lined, with a larger section on top, but the sticky side alternates between top/bottom so that the entire stack is an accordion instead of a booklet. It’s infuriating.

Had to write some sticky notes at work yesterday and the pad, they have for it, always switches where the sheets are glued together for every single sheet.

I assume, that has some purpose, but it was rather annoying, especially since I actually wanted to write specifically on the sticky part and then cut off the rest…

I use them a lot to date things in the fridge, and with some containers sticky side down is the only way it works.
