Jellyfin supports external audio tracks (see here). It works pretty well, so you could rip the audio tracks from the DVDs with Handbrake and download higher definition video files

In Google’s case, it’s to reduce power usage. Having to listen to one service only (FCM) uses less power than if each app/service was listening on their own. They state this in their website

I have a compressed copy of the config files on my server on a separate drive, and every night restic makes a snapshot and stores it in a separate drive attached to a raspberry pi 3.
I use a pi 3 to host backups from my main server via restic. I also have a pi 4 that I use as a VPN server
