I don’t know in america, but in europe, old school communists are much less hated than liberals by the right. The problem is mostly one here, mass immigration and, mostly, mena immigration. TBH the line “some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses” never made much sense to me because “those that work forces” is not commonly used (or used at all) to mean “the police”. It only made sense to me when I learned that the original line was “some of those that wear badges” but RATM’s record label made them (or maybe just convinced them to) change it because that was too inflammatory. I wish they’d go back to the badges line because that makes the meaning perfectly unambiguous.
Forces and Crosses have a similar cadence, also Forces covers police force, military force, and reservist forces all of whom crush the American dream when they are called in to break up protests and stifle free speech.
