This works:
https://lemmygrad.ml/c/lemmy_support@lemmy.ml
And this works:
But this doesn’t?
https://lemmygrad.ml/c/homelab@lemmy.ml
Am I not understanding something about how lemmy url’s work? Or is this maybe blocked on lemmygrad?
That particular community must not be federated with lemmygrad. Try searxhing !homelab@lemmy.ml on the search page.
So how does that work? Are the instances out of sync or something?

There need to be one first follower for the community to be synced. You are the first to follow this community from this lemmy server. Now the community is synced and will keep updating.
Hmm seems a bit buggy and unintuitive. I’d at least like servers to sync their sub’s list if they know about each other. Any github issues?
Yeah, the UX for finding communities to federate with is currently pretty shitty.
Woah, I searched for it and then it showed up, and now that link works! How weird.
It seems like it worked for me. As in your last link brings up lemmygrad and on the lemmy.ml homelab community. At least for me. I do find lemmy’s federation to have some wierd first time a community is shared issues personally.
Seems to be working.
