Assuming windows, if you right click on the executable, you may be able to choose to run it in a compatibility mode of some sort (like XP mode or something) in which case it should report smaller memory to the game, probably.

One could quibble over whether that is forward compatibility or backwards compatibility. (It depends if you define HDMI to mean the cable or the standard…) But the 2.1 compatible device will probably just silently fail without any hint to the consumer of what the issue is. Or, if you’re really very lucky, you’ll get some sort of degraded option.

I’d wager there is a leadership race within two months, and she is positioned for that now.

I really like Freeland. This is her rage-quitting – “you can’t fire me, I quit!” due to the Liberals resorting to desperate measures to try to salvage their approval ratings. It also positions her outside the leadership structure should a leadership convention occur. I really doubt she runs for leadership though, as the next election is likely a guaranteed party implosion. But it could separate her enough for the leadership race after this one.

She is such a level headed centrist. But the right fucking frotha at the mouth whenever she does anything because she is a woman or something.

Fuck HDMI and their stupid standards that aren’t backwards compatible. Fuck their DRM supporting asses. These updates are usually just an excuse to close the analogue loophole for a month or a year, until it is broken again.

I’ve got it on my three windows machines – all of them required for various work tasks where Linux doesn’t make sense. Been using it in that context since circa 2012 when you still had to install it with the KDE on Windows installer. I was actually surprised to see an automated update on windows. Very nice!
