The knob should just pull off, but sometimes they require full chooch. If she breaks it, it’s not a big deal. If Habitat Re-Store is a thing near her they usually have a shelf of these knobs for almost nothing. If not the big box stores sell them too, and the lights can be turned on and off without the knob until she can get a replacement.
Back when I worked as a handyman I used the old knobs for many things. Some people get very weird about change. I’d usually ask if they wanted the new one to wedge into their junk drawer, though.

There’s that, but also whoever controls the panama canal has a huge amount of power in global trade. Almost anything made in China and sold East of the Mississippi in the US went through the canal. Almost anything Made in the western US and sold in the EU went through the canal. Panama is also going through a drought that is lowering the levels in the reservoirs they use to raise the locks. This is causing them to raise crossing fees and restrict traffic. The line-go-up people hate that, as they’d turn panama into a desert before they slowed the increase in their profits.

I just installed a new head unit in my car this year. It’s still a thing. I do think the sizing standard is dying as car manufacturers currently favor integrated units over modular. I completely agree with you. The only way to get them to show us all who they are is to fight for what is right. Every time they fight against the people it becomes harder to ignore their blight. Either things get better or more people see who is making things worse. Win-win.

They can. They have. They will again. The states have the constitutional right to select their electors as they choose, but this court has demonstrated complete contempt for justice and fairness.
If you live in a state that hasn’t joined the NPVIC push your state legislature to adopt it.
