1 year agoI have bought used components off ebay for my home lab. It works just fine. The only thing I usually buy “new” are PSUs and Hard Drives.

Just buy a used computer off craigslist, a sata expander if needed, a boot drive and install TrueNAS. Can be as much as 600 or as little as 200.
