You’re arguing to deport a terminally ill American citizen out of state. We don’t have to kick out the mom just to scratch our racist itches.

The other comments be like, “this lady is dumb because she killed herself and definitely just changed her mind and definitely wasn’t murdered, despite expressing that she will likely be murdered.”

The authorities are assholes. They go for schools and churches and hospitals and courtrooms. They won’t bother with rape cases unless they’re an easy slam dunk. They hold grudges and weaponize their power over people they don’t like. They won’t target gang members when uneducated immigrants are so much easier.

It’s painful how I struggle to distinguish reality from parody.

I read it. Without a doubt, they’re expressing the second. It explains how the community is disgusted by the doctor’s conduct during this emergency and the other medical professionals expressed alarm towards Kennedy’s endorsement of the situation.

The problem I see is in popular works of fiction, the scenarios seem too specific. Racism, rape, torture, whatever… they all start to come off as weird sorts of validation, wish fulfillment, or cheap shock content. Instead of satisfying a role in the plot, it subtracts from the immersion because you’re wondering if the author is into vore or whatever.

I think it’s good to have an outlet for these sorts of things. I just think it’s less about freedom of expression and more and audience reach, i.e., they didn’t get dark because it limits the demographic.

I’ve tried my hardest to use Linux but gave up. I want to like it, but the hurdle is too high to get everyone on board. At the end of the day, the computer is a tool. Maybe a hand made walking stick is better than a manufactured one - someone who is not versed in the ergonomics and construction of walking sticks is going to opt for the stick that enables them to walk today. I use computers enough to see learning Linux as an investment, it’s just not something I have time for today.

Crazy how ethics work. Like a pig might be more physically and mentally capable than an individual in a vegetative state, but we place more value on the person. I’m no vegan, but I can see the contradiction here. When we generalize, it’s done so for a purpose, but these assumptions can only be applied to a certain extent before they’ve exhausted their utility. Whether it’s a biological system or an electrical circuit, there is no godly commandment that inherently defines or places value on human life.
