  • I did not quote the post because it is in spanish.

In short: a guy argued that my country’s goverment is a dictatorship because expeled out the staff of an UN office that is supposed to work on human rights issues and in his opinion there are human rights violations. I replied that a dictatorship is defined by the means a group of people get and/or keep political power and stay in power against the will of majority. Democracy: power by people’s vote, otherwise could be a dictatorship. The violations of human rights does not define dictatorship and made this example: Israel’s goverment is legal and democratic but, in mi opinion, is commiting genocide against Palestine people, so violations of human rights does not equal dictatorship.

I guess that was the trigger, the guy freaked out and i Just stoped the argument, thought it was useless.

  • The article in www.lgbtnation.com says:

A Houthi court in Dhamar, Yemen, has sentenced nine people to death on homosexuality charges, according to Amnesty International.

    Checking Amnesty International:

Yemen: Huthis must stop executions and release dozens facing LGBTI charges On 23 January, the criminal court in Dhamar in northern Yemen sentenced nine individuals to death – with seven sentenced to be executed by stoning, and two by crucifixion – while 23 others were handed prison sentences between six months and 10 years on charges including “homosexuality”, “spreading immorality”, and “immoral acts”. On 1 February, the court of first instance in Ibb in southern Yemen handed death sentences to 13 students and flogging to three others on charges of ‘spreading homosexuality’.

    But without any sources

    The article in www.lgbtnation.com says:

“Additionally, a Houthi court in Ibb, Yemen, sentenced 13 students to death and three others to flogging for “spreading homosexuality,” according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).”

When you follow the link it leads to L´OrienteToday, and there are no sources in this web page

    Looked in AFP site: NOTHING

The article in www.lgbtnation.com puts an image, if you read the caption it says:

Image released by ISIS showing citizens of Kirkuk stoning the lifeless body of a man executed for being gay.

This image is from 2016 (seearched with TinEye)

Kirkuk is in Irak, and ISIS is known for doing this things, but it is not related to the “new”. Where are Yemen images?

Given that the Houtis are kicking the ass of USA and UK´s Navy these “news” are too convenient. Saudi Arab and UAE used to do this and no news about it, suddenly this “news” about Yemen.

    I do not buy it.

  • 1- i did not write you intent yo kill anyone, just you are adding your contribution to a toxic environment of manipulation, if you intended or not i do not know.

2- i did not object on religious or moral grounds.

3- you did not ask for a legal answer, that would be too easy. Your question is open ended in order to obtain arguments based on different personal grounds, mine are based on: a) critical thinking. b) been fed up (sorry, do not remember a softer expression) reading such ideas. c) been on the reciving end of that media manipulation, because Putin is not the only political leader who faces this. There are too many in the world, and with them their peoples share the burden of the consequences.

4- last, i am not going to argue about this forever, do not want to win any argument. If you want to feel you are right and me wrong go ahead and be happy.

  • Those kind of questions can not be made without context, it is not a game of words without consequences. If it is a game, just to waste time posting in this or any social network, let’s stop here.

It is about a real person, who is a leader, whose murder would spark grave consequences. And that leader actions, like taking the decision of going to war or not, are related to decisions made by other leaders. Right now there is a campaign demonizing that leader, and that campaign normalizes ideas mirrored by that kind of questions. There lots of memes, jokes and things like that asking for Putin’s dead.

If i asked, what would happen if Donald Trump were assassinated? Or Biden, or Xi Jing Pin, Erdogan, etc? At this moment when all media are strugling to influence public opinion? It won’t be a futile harmless game.

It pertains to the whole picture. IMHO.
