Other devs, please follow suit.
This industry needs class consciousness in it yesterday.
Just because you’re paid well doesn’t mean you’re not being mistreated.
It’s valid to be thankful for what you have but to also know you deserve more.
MOTHER FATHER CHINESE DENTIST!
Situationists never die, they’re just remixed.

You got your music in my Android custom recovery!
You got your Android custom recovery all in my music!
I have no idea how these taste together, I just know I thought this was about unlocking the bootloader and installing a custom operating system.
Depends on the government.
The internet is endlessly being scraped for data, especially by governments. Lemmy can be scraped just as easily as any other website.
Some governments are happy to let people more or less discuss whatever, because they know revolutionary steam is blown off by being allowed to talk about bad conditions. A loose grip has been shown to be more effective than a tight grip, when it comes to control.
Other governments are more strict, and it doesn’t matter where you’ve been critical of them. If they can figure out who you are, and find out you said something on Lemmy that they think they can prosecute. Oh, they will, they will.
Cheers, mate! I don’t use Apple stuff very often, but I do strongly respect their engineering and the fact that they’re certified UNIX for macOS.
There just needs to be far less gatekeeping and acting like one solution fits all in the PC community in general.
So at no point was there any community involvement from Epic? They have no idea what’s being promoted on their servers?
Since this game is heavily marketed towards children, that’s a huge fucking oversight on Epics part, to not know what kind of things are being promoted through their game.
It’s too bad box cutters were made illegal to own or possess after 9/11. /s
Wish we could cancel Executive Orders 12333, 13355, and 13470, all of which are used against US citizens.
Thanks Reagan and Bush, motherfuckers.
I think you’re missing their point.
Indy was always “it belongs in a museum” when its an intricate part of some foreign nations history. That museum always seemed to be British or US.
The point being they’re just stealing their history back. A reverse Indy.
“It belongs to the culture it came from. Allow them to choose what to do with it. Perhaps they even have their own museums.”
Yes, really.
We literally have shortages of life-saving medications in the USA right now and the reason is 100% because it’s not profitable enough.
The only way to solve this is to nationalize the pharmacy companies. They will never pursue the best for their patients when profits are on the line.
Read about it for yourself:

Epic not getting enough flak for being involved.
It happened on Fortnite.
The idea that Epic didn’t know is a joke.
Too bad they learned that stuff at 35 years old.
Who isnt going to go along with it?
Gotta be like 90% of people have never installed an OS because Windows was already on their PC when they bought it.
To them, its part of buying a PC. They don’t consider the OS a separate purchase.
If they make this move they’re banking on people not noticing until after they’ve bought a shiny new PC. After that most people will suffer the cost because they already own the PC and its just “easier.”
They cater to a rich audience. They want to feel attacked and NYT is obliging them with hyperbole.
“We’ve been over this countless times, sir. That’s not the kind of camp Camp David is.”
Thankfully, this was someone else’s PC…
I get that, but Windows/Powershell isn’t case-sensitive, so you can type it all lowercase if you want (I do).
Linux on the other hand is case sensitive despite most GNU tools defaulting to all lower case. There’s definitely a bunch of case-sensitive switches in Linux CLI applications.
There has been optional case-insensitive file system support in Linux for a few years now, though.
It feels like lemmy users are too shy because of reddit popularity.
I see you’ve never heard of the 90%/9%/1% rule of social media users.
90% are lurkers. 9% are intermittent posters. 1% are heavy use posters.
It’s not that people are shy, it’s that literally with a fraction of the userbase Reddit has, that 10% that actually makes posts is just a smaller number of people.
I would rag on Google here, but if you read this entire mastadon nitter thread, other people have already done a golden ass job of taking Google to task for this propaganda.
I agree with this post completely but for some reason you finishing with this makes me chuckle.
Oh no! Thousands! They might be able to pay rent for a month or two!
I’m just being cheeky, and while its true what they did was scummy, it also feels like a really… smallish amount of money?
If we’re literally just talking thousands, and not tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands.
But yeah, fuck Brave.
Firefox gang and Hardened Firefox gang here to stay.
Mozilla’s got its own problems but that’s a story for another day.
