Remember that teams will only be allowed to work on their 2026 car from the start of 2025
Genuine question: how is this even policed? You can’t stop people from thinking about solutions already.

Wouldn’t it be better for our digital wellbeing to have an option that makes it unpleasant to use the phone in bed? 😬
There seems to be some effort in that area too.
A new fleet of DHL biofuel-powered trucks also reduced logistics-related carbon emissions by an average of 83% during the European season.

I use it when I’m staying at hotels and want to use their WiFi, or any other public WiFi, to protect my private data. Google probably has it anyway but there’s no need to share it with another unknown entity.
ALO must really have faith in Aston’s progress in the upcoming years.
Where does that leave SAI? Maybe an all Spanish line-up at Aston? (Assuming that PER keeps his seat at Red Bull if he continues his current form)
Ferrari with a good strategy? What year is this?
I liked the dramatic green flag waving at the start. 😄 IIRC they always do it like this at Suzuka.
This is a belated April Fool’s joke, right? This looks horrendous. Like the ugly child of iOS and Samsung icons.
The cars are still slower than the v10 era
I never understood that sole focus on top speed.
The wheel to wheel racing is better than in the V10 era, and that’s what the regulations intend to do. What’s the point of being fast in a straight line when the actual racing is shit? As a spectator you don’t notice the difference between 355 and 365 kph anyway.
Using KERS was always fun in the F1 games. So there’s at least that. I still wish they would the amount of times those overtake gimmicks (DRS and KERS) can be used during a race so that drivers only use it when conventional overtaking doesn’t work. Make them work for an overtake. And if they can’t overtake, then so be it. That’s part of racing.
I’m still not quite sold on the pill-shaped camera bar but I suppose this design helps with consistency across different types of device (normal phones, foldables, tablets), unlike the current camera visor.
I’m not really sure if I can convey my thought process in English but I’ll try.
The cars still all have to travel back to the pit lane
That is true. However you could see that some cars struggled to clear the stationed Mercedes and had to take to the grass. There was a bunch of debris on either side of the Mercedes.
After a red flag the other drivers could take their time to find the safest way around the Mercedes, or if necessary stop the car entirely. That’s not really possible during a VSC because the race is technically still going on. Or to put it another way: during a VSC the drivers only slow down as much as they have to. But they don’t want to slow more than necessary. Let’s say the driver in front of you has a time penalty that will be applied after the race. During a VSC you’ll scramble by the stopped car as fast as possible to not lose more time. It’s potentially unsafe.
That should have been an automatic instant red flag. Just because it’s the last lap shouldn’t mean that race control can weasel themselves out of that decision and endanger the driver sitting in the middle of the road. Race Control dropped the ball with that VSC decision. Listen to the onboard audio of RUS, you can hear the panic in his voice: https://dubz.co/c/f82a3d
That Sainz guy is pretty good. Ferrari should think about re-signing him. Oh wait. 🙄
Also: RUS binning it on the last lap in a race where SAI wins after a 9-race winning streak from VER? Looks like a pattern emerging.
Thank you RUS for giving some nice points to TSU and Haas.
So it’s Ferrari vs McLaren for the win. What year is this?
They should do a video call instead of flying there for meetings all the time. Much more efficient and cheaper.
NASA Earth meeting
Are there also meetings on other planets?
They just showed an onboard replay on F1TV of HUL being impeded by PER in the penultimate corner. Should be a grid penalty for PER.
“Compact” is a bit of a stretch. But the size of the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro (non-XL) is pretty nice. I currently have a 7 Pro and while the “screen real estate” is nice, it’s really on the upper end of what I’m willing to use. (Both in terms of size and weight) I bought my mom a Pixel 8 recently and I really liked the form factor when I set up the phone. It’s large enough to fit everything on the screen but small enough to use comfortably. Since I really want a telephoto lens the non-XL Pro version seems like it’s made for me. 😄
