3.5mm is an audio source, USB is a data source. Any headphone with a USB plug also has to convert digital to audio, something your phone already does. USB is not a replacement by any means.

My LG phone is a beast. Sure, it’s not quite the same audio power as a headphone amp would give, but the audio quality and convenience is fantastic.

It still degrades audio quality and that’s an area I refuse to compromise on.

I only own it on CD but is on my list to hunt down for my vinyl collection.

If I had a group to play heavier wargames with, this would certainly be high on my anticipated list. I trust Jay Carmichael’s opinion on game mechanics & assessment, ability to edit things, and is generally good at entertainment, so I don’t doubt his game designing capabilities (coupled with an expert publishing team). Also the theme is my jam.

For me and my group, I’ll keep to the lighter Cry Havoc and Nexus Ops for this gaming itch. Who knows, maybe at a convention I’ll try out Red Dust Rebellion.
