In southern parts of Europe maybe. But in Germany for example they are really rare.

It’s been a while since I attended Gamescom. But I can completely understand why they are dodging the Gamescom. Only the announcement of a complete new Zelda or 3D Mario could be interesting but everyone is waiting for news regarding Switch 2.
Sorry to hear that. I tried playing it on an older gaming rig in 1080p with a 1080 Ti.
No chance to get a stable 60fps experience even while sacrificing every gpu quality and playing it at ultra low.
I really love the game but optimisation and performance are a joke. I played it with 30fps on console and PC and it needs absurd amounts of power. Would it be even more worse with a multi release on PS5?
Using your email address as username is a common problem for a lot of users.
Some of them are even completely shocked that they can use a different password and don’t understand, that their mail is just their login credentials for this specific site.
The feature “login with Apple/Google/Facebook” exists for a reason.
Twitter sueing Meta because they hired ex twitter employees to build the twitter competitor Threads (which just sucks to be honest).
Get Signal.
I have both and the synchronising of matrix keeps ages.
As a native App it felt of course more smooth and everything was more polished. But the whole UI is exactly like Apollo, still missing some QOL features (like favorite communities).
There were a lot of features which you would never ask for in the beginning but when you’re used to it, they are great. For example: You want to share some reddit content with friends who don’t use reddit? Here, take the native video downloader and just share the video and not a link. Or you could share a thread/comment as a big vertical screenshot, so your friends could read it on their mobile device.
Yeah I did and currently I’m switching between wefwef and Memmy. I have to say that I’m positively shocked how fast those Apps developed in the last two weeks.
Maybe I would like to see the original Apollo App, because I used it for years and it’s more about the emotional bonding.
I bought the wallpapers to support Christian and had a really emotional evening.
When the blackout started I joined Lemmy and started to stop using Reddit to show my support by not producing any traffic.
On the last day I opened up apollo again and it was so terrifying, knowing the way I used Reddit for years will be gone. I used PDS but will wait with the deletion of my accounts to be safe that Reddit doesn’t restore my comments.
I still keep my fingers crossed that Christian will make an Apollo App for Lemmy, but I can totally understand the he got other things to do.
Just remember, he got called out from Spez and one of his income sources just disappeared because a business partner just wanted to fuck him up. I hope his friends and family will be there for him.
BTW: Made a little fan icon. Just for the dreams.
A lot of users will stay, but some left. I hope they will be enough to replace the content machine Reddit with the fediverse.
Twitter is about people, Reddit is about content.
Do you remember any nicknames or any famous Reddit users? I remember the story about the poop knife but not the nickname. I remember on lemmy the 3 day no poop challenge but not the nickname.
I’ve added Lemmy as safari homescreen app. You have to use the gestures (which I hated) but you get used to it.
Uncharted 1. A lot of people told me that I have to play the uncharted games, they’re groundbreaking. I can understand that the early games were ahead of their time when they released, but they aged badly. The physics, the story, the gameplay - everything feels just like trash.
If you don’t have any nostalgic memories of the game and you play it for the first time today, you’ll think it sucks.
I like the look of the game (compared to No Mans Sky) but I can’t trust Bethesda. I won’t preorder, but I’ve got hope.
My whole Reddit experience was Apollo, even on desktop after the release for M1 Macs.
So they’re not killing just an app to connect with Reddit, they’re killing the Reddit experience (at least for me).
I’ve stopped using Reddit web years ago, I installed the official Reddit app last month and uninstalled it after 5 minutes because it felt like a piece of shit.
I will stick with lemmy and even think about starting to create content.
Even though feddit.org is largely a German instance, content in English is also welcome. I believe that this has already been included in the sidebar.
I would also like to mention that feddit.org was founded in conjunction with the Fediverse Foundation. This is a non-profit organization from Austria that runs various Mastodon instances. There is active and passive association work and also a larger team that takes care of hosting.
The current problems of feddit.de in particular are due to the fact that the load is spread over very few shoulders and some of these are currently unavailable.
