Like… the merchant class that existed after the Black Plague who had enough money to have influence over politics? What do they have to do with anything?

Yeah, no thanks.

I especially don’t want to call wolf now when it may very well happen soon.

They sound excellent plausible, but turn go and verify any of the actual numbers. Swing states really weren’t any different from other states. They’re not real discrepancies.

If it’s a fresh wipe with a good passcode, and you keep it on airplane mode, you’re probably fine.

I don’t think there’s a single state that requires you to actually carry documentation.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_and_identify_statutes
These are the states that require you to at least verbally state your name, and only if the officer has reasonable suspicion that you have or will commit a crime.
They can ask your name. You may not have to answer.
Research your state’s law on this before you go. It’s in the link.
Maybe, maybe not. Politicians have always had a finger in the wind on some issues. I think if you gave a decent historical account including things like current crime rates by race and the bombing of Tulsa, and just mention “generational wealth” like they’re already familiar with it, and then gave them 24 hours to sit on it, I think they’d all be good with it.
Consider if someone took you, shoved you 200 years into the future and said, “Eating animals was some fucked up shit. Do you know what happened in Factory Farms? Really? Of course we’re all vegetarian.”.

Border patrol is hardly related to our current problems. Even following orders to go stand in a certain place isn’t terrible until you actually do something wrong.
The fact that people (National Guard, Marines, whatever) showed up in LA is a problem. Most of those actual people themselves are not the problem.

My friend thinks the jobs don’t exist, and they’re just posted so the company looks good.
They definitely did that at college job fairs. They wanted to keep their spot, but weren’t hiring that year.

Serinus@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Activists say Israeli troops have boarded aid ship bound for Gaza102·10 days agoIt’s not far off. They’re absolutely trying to kill all of Gaza at once. There’s a reason they’re repeatedly attacking anyone who brings food, including World Central Kitchen.
You’re aware of the food traps, right?
They absolutely will not allow Greta to bring aid to Gaza. They’d kill her if the PR wasn’t so bad.
Unlike a lot of the Gaza sympathizers, I do not excuse Oct 7th. It was an attack on Israel. It was not justified. Israel has a right to defend itself.
This isn’t defense. This is genocide. They’re trying to solve the problem permanently by killing nearly every last one of them. It’s a Final Solution.
Even if that is your opinion, why share it? What value does that provide to anyone, including yourself.
Shitting on things for no reason stopped being popular after the 90s.
