12·3 days agoThe $20 walmart ONN google tv box is the closest to a stock experience you can get. There’s a guide on reddit on how to use adb to remove stock apps, change the dns to an addblocker. Then you can switch launchers and permanently disable the stock one.
It’s a newer version of android, so the retroarch on the play store won’t work. You have to download the current version from their site and download it. You can use an app to remap the remote buttons. Get a micro usb otg adapter and plug in a usb stick for extra storage.
I had a firestick, but they started puting ads on the screensaver. Now we don’t have any ads and just a nice grid of the apps we want to use.

2·7 days agoThis one of tbe reasons I created !dullsters@dullsters.net I do not have to worry about one instances modderation policy or splitting of users. Sure I could go crazy one day, but I have a robust ruleset in place that the comminity has followed without issue.

It costs me less than $10/mo to run mine and some of that is because I have to pay for an email forwarder until my hosting provider lets me start sending emails, part of that is factoring the cost of the domain name. The actual cloud server costs $5/mo right now.

I created dullsters.net just for just one community, it could be more if there were demand for dull content or another dull community wanted to come over, but I don’t have any plans to make it some big thing.

According to u.s. law, age discrimination kicks in at 40. If you’re under 40 they can say you’re too young.
Our cat slides hair ties or socks under the bathroom door so that you can play with her.
I created an instance for one specific community so that users won’t be affected by who federates from who (unless you’re a spam instance or something like that)
