Hey I’m new here. What do you mean by change instance? Like I see the different subs/communities or what y’all call em, but I’ve just been scrolling through the “everything” tab or whatever it’s called.

I followed some of my interests but generally I just sort by top in the past hour and scroll away.

It’s almost like… They never cared in the first place. I don’t know why so many people are shocked. They only ever cared about money. The millisecond they were no longer at risk of losing capitol for not having a thing of course they were all gonna drop it.

For real. Even as an American I want those tracks gone lol. Miami has been terrible every time and Vegas only marginally better.

COTA just sets the bar very high. I wish they could race at Leguna Seca like Indy does, but I don’t think modern F1 cars could handle the corkscrew at all. And the rest of the track is fairly bumpy in places. Sadly I don’t think it would be possible (or more accurately economical) to convert Leguna Seca into a grade 1 track either.

I am so excited to have an American team (and hopefully an American driver) that I can actually root for. I know Haas has been around for awhile but they are barely an American team and the one American driver we had on the grid recently was a nice enough guy, but he was not particularly quick (though much of that could have been the brick of car he was driving).

Still very excited to see how this all goes. I am expecting a rough start, but I hope after a few seasons they can find their footing and really hammer down.

See that’s where you lose me. Restricting access may as well be the same thing as not allowing the copy to be stored in the first place.

I know all about projects like the British Library. It’s seriously impressive and definitely an important historical archive. It can be burned to the ground and they already don’t allow most people to check out a lot of specific things.

But again I must point out that should there be a war or a sudden shift in political ideology of the government they might decide to destroy or remove certain things they don’t like.

And back to the “restricted access” topic. Who decides what is restricted? Here in a America we are super weird about nudity and sexuality. Other places wouldn’t want their general population to know the recipe for napalm.

I fundamentally disagree with the premise someone else telling me what information I am allowed to see or not. Any version of state or government ran media storage will have those issues.

Method? Idk my roommate for like 6 years was Chinese and he had a keyboard that he could switch between American English and Chinese. He showed me how it worked and the key caps all had a few Chinese symbols next to each English letter and he could cycle between them as needed. He wasn’t as fast typing in Chinese, but it was the only way for him to communicate with certain family as they couldn’t speak or read English at all.

When his mom visited her laptop also had a similar set up except on hers the English letters were smaller and the. Chinese symbols were bigger. I assume because she bought it in China or something.

Who pays for the storage? Who pays for the servers? Who does upkeep? What about any media that state deems harmful or illegal?

Pirates have been doing a better job keeping media alive than any state of government ever will. Governments can be corrupted. Pirates are a decentralized collective.

Private collections will be how legacy media lives on. Not through some state sponsored bullshit.

Rule 1 for Lemmy overall or that specific sub? Cause I don’t see any rules listed under the “about” tab. I didn’t break rule 1 as its written as far as I can tell. So that just feels like mod abuse because they didn’t like what I said or something.

I also didn’t get any sort of notification for this temporary ban. Is that intentional? It was simply giving me “network errors” whenever I tried to upvote something and the feedback for the user was very unclear.

I know I’m asking a lot of questions but can anyone see the ban logs for everything? I am obviously very new and still trying to figure out how this whole shindig works.

Yes… And most of those saboteurs come from inside the house. Look at all the Pro Palestine people who either skipped the vote because they were mad at the Democrats or they voted against them on this single issue thinking that Trump was somehow going to make the situation over there any better.

I’ll never deny that Republicans and the greater right do pretty much everything in their power to block or trip up the Democrats whenever possible, but you also have to admit that the Democrats have their own internal issues that are the cause of much of their own dysfunction.
