I’ve been listening to the graphic audio versions of The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson.
I just finished listening to Joe Abercrombie’s First Law Trilogy. The narrator was fantastic. Probably the best I’ve listened.

In 2011 SK started a tax for a reunification fund in the event that they absorb a bunch of NK refugees at some point.
Step 1: butter the toast or English muffin Step 2: apply peanut butter Step 3: bliss. Stop yourself from eating the whole loaf
This just happened to me today. I was talking with a colleague and recalled that they had just gone on a short trip with their partner. First time away from the kids.
I asked how it was, I was a couple weeks overdue but they excitedly told me about it. It felt good to ask, did it change my day? Not really that much.
But this person was excited to share (a few weeks ago) their excitement and anticipation with me. So when I asked how it went, they got a chance to relive it and share with me the results.
All in all, they cared enough to share, I cared enough to ask and at the end of it, I felt good. I got to share in their excitement and make a person feel heard and valued AND they got to relive the excitement again.
As a Canadian, same. And so much more.
Then you get people who spell with Canadian and American spelling and you wonder if you’ve been spelling things wrong or if once again, American culture is slipping in.
This might be my ignorance, but the Ubiquiti stuff I’m finding seems to be all commercial. I ended up getting a good price on the Flint 2 and it should be here next Friday. I’m hoping to chunk out some time setting it up on the 20th
Thank you for your detailed responses. Has adguard any track record of collecting data? Is there a way to know?
I’ll check it out - thanks!
I’ll check out mikrotik - thanks!
I don’t really understand the rest of what you said haha
Thank you for the reply - you’ve offered a great opportunity to ask another question 😂
I was looking at adguard. Is this something worth the subscription? I was looking at it because it seems to handle a lot of ads, including those on mobile games and stuff. But in my cursory glance, people are saying it’s not safe…
I’ll look at the GL-iNet because a) I want a powerhouse and b) I want nothing to do with flashing firmware haha
I need to replace my router as it’s coming to end of life. I want one with vlan so I can put all my iot on a separate lan. Any recommendations?
They already send the tv’s out at cost to collect your data to sell.
They’re starting to ship them with chips in them to send the data away whether connected to WiFi or not
And they’re taking screenshots of what you watch, including when you plug in a laptop.
We’re almost there
Canada for me!
Yes!
Holy cow haha. I “bought” so much music there. They got a ton of obscure gypsy brass band stuff for me when I asked too (Fanfare Ciocarlia)
Memory unlocked.
I definitely know what you’re talking about (dispite not remembering the name of it) but they had everything. And if they didn’t, you could request it and they’d find it.
I miss that site now
I just choked on my drink. Fucking hilarious
This is the nicest way someone’s put it. I’ve tried to switch to Linux three or four times but until there is a distro that makes it plug and play like Windows or mac its going to be a tough sell. I consider myself tech savvy enough (I can google things, and for goodness sake at the bare minimum I can cut and paste into the terminal) but the barrier for getting Linux to work is too high right now for a very large part of the population.
I have W10 computer running the arrs and my plex server that I’m going to have to figure out as I can’t get W11 on it.
I want to do it so bad!.. but I think I’ll probably just end up getting a new, used computer that can run W11
Same here!
Although I do love “Blame Brett”
Not only that, but all those fragmented streaming services keep increasing prices.
You get more bang for you buck with services outside of peacock. Peacocks draw (at least for people I know) was old reruns of favourite shows. Even if you didn’t want a VPN and a sail, you can buy the DVDs or bluerays.
Disney +, Netflix, Prime for all their issues, create new content that people want.
