I just had another look at Sergio’s on board. He touched the back left of Carloz who was slowly drifting towards him. Could have been avoided by Sergio.

Looked like a puncture back left for Sainz?
India is a problem.
And he walked back to the pits at 5km/hr.
Looks like he wanted to put the car sideways as a last attempt to reduce speed, same as when initiating a drift.
Turns out he is disqualified from qualifying results. A sad weekend for Williams… Albon had qualified 8th.
Pessimistic
OK I found it myself : https://us.motorsport.com/f1/news/were-russells-worn-tyres-the-cause-of-his-spa-f1-disqualification/10640096/
“We expect that the loss of rubber from the one-stop was a contributing factor, and we’ll work to understand how it happened.
“We won’t be making any excuses though. It is clearly not good enough and we need to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
The missing weight of 1.5kg may sound like a lot, but we are only talking about 375 grammes from each corner.
And as Pirelli head of F1 Mario Isola has explained, that is well within the boundaries of how much a worn tyre loses.
Why “definitely”, please publish your info? Pirelli disagrees with you.
Does anybody know how much weight the tyres lose during a long stint like Russel did? And when compared to a 20-lap?
A slow lap can be done by driving through the pits (or is there some other alternative road?). A car has to do a slow lap if he did not have DRS for 2 laps while the car following did have DRS.
DRS time can be extended to 2 or 3 seconds.
Thanks a lot!
Interesting: although the Dutch news outlets carry extensive messages about Karim B and his escape, none of them mention that it was him threatening Princess Amalia or PM Rutte. Amalia actually went to Spain to study because of the increased danger in Amsterdam. And then they find Karim B. also in Spain…
I wonder how credible this Politico article is and what the stories in Spanish outlets are. Please share links…

Alonso wdc with Honda, the irony! Would be fun if McLaren also switched back to Honda.
So you don’t need to look it up:

Then, on the 57th lap, McLaren’s David Coulthard suddenly had to swerve around Fernando Alonso approaching the chicane, and spun into retirement. “Alonso braked ten metres earlier than he had the lap before,” said Coulthard. “He was dealing inconsistently with problems, as his rear tyres looked completely worn out. But I just got caught out.”[citation needed] The Spaniard continued, and was very nearly caught on the final lap by the recovering world champion. The stewards investigated the incident after a report was filed to them by the FIA race director Charlie Whiting. They spoke to both Alonso and Coulthard and members of their respective teams. After a review of telemetry and video data, no driver was imposed a penalty.
Yes. And now I’m disappointed that it was just as boring.
It is lonely at the top. Would be nice to have a competition.
Yeah sure: “to whom it may concern: f*ck you” Wasn’t that in response to negativity before an Australian GP as well?
