JeffKerman1999@sopuli.xyzto Formula 1@lemmy.world•Post by Giedo van der Garde regarding pressure on Liam – post liked by Max, Oscar, Pierre & Hulk85·2 months agoI mean the dude that got demoted came off as a real jerk, it’s hard to empathize. Also it’s not like dude is dead, he just got fired (and he got paid handsomely for it).
JeffKerman1999@sopuli.xyzto Formula 1@lemmy.world•[Multiviewer] Status update related to F1 TV's introduction of stream limits121·2 months agoYeah that’s the standard operating procedure for all these services: enter the market cheap with awesome features, once you have a foothold increase the prices, then lock existing features behind a more expensive premium tier, increase the prices even more, remove more features, add multiple tiers that all have “holes” in the features somebody could reasonably want so one must buy multiple tiers and/or buy the platinum plan, cut down on costs like “giving the service your users paid for”, add a superior platinum tier, make a creeptocoin
JeffKerman1999@sopuli.xyzto Technology@lemmy.world•Android is now warning of Firefox sharing dataEnglish18·2 months agoThe main problem is that building a web browser is extremely difficult and everyone else uses Google’s version of WebKit. So there’s no alternatives: it’s either Google or Mozilla. Forks don’t count because if some functionality that end users need is deprecated, nobody will maintain it and it will just disappear once it’s removed from the main codebase

JeffKerman1999@sopuli.xyzto NBA@lemmy.world•Calls for New Playoff Bracket Format Reportedly 'Expected to Get Louder'English12·5 months agoThere’s too many playoff spots, it should be fewer and based only on elo ranking instead of number of wins, since one division is good and one has 3 good teams and the rest is garbage

But then they are allowed to make fun of the Pope saying stuff like “Between the Pope and air conditioning, I’d choose air conditioning.” and you must laugh for some reason even though the dude is Jewish and so the Pope is nothing to him like any religious leader is nothing to me.
JeffKerman1999@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Should people get preferential treatment because they have kids?11·5 months agoBut that’s on the capitalist, not on the worker. They should hire some more people to cover for whoever has emergencies.
I have a kid now and I understand the frustration of who didn’t have kids. The problem is that the frustration is to the wrong person.

But it is already putting species under pressure in the wildEnglish10·5 months agoThe USA will have millions of people die unnecessarily between the donald, the JFK jr and private insurance companies.
You get what you voted for, so “thoughts and prayers”
JeffKerman1999@sopuli.xyzto Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube “Enhances” Comment Section With AI-Generated NonsenseEnglish31·5 months agoIt’s all a ploy to generate “engagement” and make more money for Google. They have already been caught once boosting video views to milk the advertisers. Oh no, it wasn’t them! It was some evil hackers using their infrastructure and tools.
Regarding the video platforms, the only way is everyone hosts their own content and distribute via RSS… But then where is the money in it

JeffKerman1999@sopuli.xyzto Technology@lemmy.world•Chinese companies are reportedly reluctant to adopt homegrown chips — domestic solutions are technologically too far behindEnglish12·5 months agoYeah the main thing about Chinese’s companies dependency of Western chips is that it’s another venue for putting political pressure to avoid conflicts in the area. Once the Chinese don’t need anymore Western chips, they can safely ignore some type of embargoes.
