Spanish guy, who likes open source software and has just discovered the fediverse (as of 28th of April, 2022). I like video games, and indie and retro music. I’m a student. I’m officially diagnosed with ADHD and ASD since January, 2023.
Those who lie and justify their lies, either with or without more lies.
That doesn’t have to be a bad thing. I commented on posts that were weeks old or a month old. Reddit had this bad habit that everything older than 30 minutes was irrelevant already.
Sure, seeing old posts doesn’t help to create an image of activity. But don’t think that something old is irrelevant, unless it’s a news post.
It depends. I’m on two instances, sopuli and beehaw. Both of them are really welcoming and cool, and I can interact with people without worrying about being bullied or harassed or attacked by random trolls just because they don’t like what I say (and trust me, suffering those actions while being neurodivergent is way worse than suffering those actions while being neurotypical).
But I think that more than 70% of the content I see comes from one single instance. Excluding beehaw (they defederated that other instance, and I agree with that), I think that sopuli also has similar communities that are like abandoned or with low amount of content. That’s something I don’t like.
The thing is that I don’t have those issues on Lemmy, because I usually browse by /local, both on this server and on beehaw. But I had to block lemmy.world with my user on Kbin due to that problem you were pointing out. And miraculously, I can see content from Kbin, lemmy.ml, blahaj, beehaw sopuli, and so on, because there is no way to browse only local content on Kbin as it can be done on Lemmy.
Prove it, because I only see US-centric posts while browsing /all.
And no, America is not the US.
I don’t know whether you’re a woman or a man, but let’s say you’re a woman. You know your husband goes to work everyday, you know his car, you know his licence plate and you know where he works.
Now, you see a picture on the internet, like a disco bar, or a penthouse. And you see, in the parking lot, some vehicles, being your husband’s among them. Now what?
Or the other way, your husband sees your car at an expensive beauty shop, instead of being at a hospital, because you said you were visiting your dying relative.
Privacy must be protected, it’s a very important thing in European countries, and licence plates belong to that privacy, as well as phone numbers.
they’re launching in America first
Because GDPR makes Threads to be illegal in Europe, thanks to Ireland and the European Union 😆
When I joined Lemmy one year and some months ago (the instance I’m talking from), this wasn’t a desert, but this wasn’t a living place either. Maybe I didn’t subscribe to some communities, but I could see two or three new posts per day, with a couple of comments in the best case scenario. I didn’t do my part either as much as I’m doing it now.
But now, between holding poop for 3 days, or eating beans, or the abundance of users on every instance, this is a neverending party, and I’m happy. I’m still not doing my part posting, but I comment very often. And I even have one account on two instances each (is that correctly said?).
With correct mods, with wholesome admins and with polite users, even disagreeing, these places will be forever my virtual home.
I was doing experiments with ffmpeg. If it works well, good. If not, I’ll try simple screen recorder. Thanks.
I’m thinking about recording my screen monitor while I’m playing some video games and upload the videos both on PeerTube and on YouTube. With a slightly little difference between them: the YouTube version will show messages encouraging the use of adblockers and leading people to PeerTube.
Now I have to find a good software and configuration to record my gameplays on my “potato” computer.
A death match between the presidents / prime ministers of the rival countries. The country of the winner of that match will win the war, and the country of the loser has to deal with the following consequences.
Don’t forget karma whoring, where your comments will be invisible to the algorithm and you seem to talk to an empty wall, while one liners and easy jokes are at the top.
At this point, I’m still wondering why nobody is fixing those damn windows so people can’t fall out of them so easily.
This instance is not big enough for the two of us.
I need to resume my plays in Dwarf Fortress. It’s a wonderful game, but frustrating sometimes.
Those are antiservers, built with antihardware, in an antimatter universe.
Thank you for the suggestion. I’m enjoying it (⌐■_■)
Wow, thank you stranger, sadness is no more inside me. I’ll be happy forever and ever.
No, it doesn’t.
