The circus is the US. The ringmaster is in DC. We all live in the circus, surrounded by clowns and lions, but if you set the tarp on fire, we all burn. We need a new circus.

Did you know: Puberty blockers cause ZERO harm to children, and to reverse the effects, which will allow puberty to continue its course, just stop the medicine!
This adolescent person that is nearly the age of majority will now have to suffer anxiety, body image issues, potential suicidal and self-harm ideation, and general misery, because the a person decided that what this other person was doing for self care, and to improve their mental health, was wrong. I’m so glad these lawmakers with NO BIAS and MEDICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE are making laws, that are obviously not for any agenda and hurting nobody in particular, because trans people like me aren’t actually real people and shouldn’t be allowed to be comfortable in their own body.
What do you mean “excuses to permit yourself to date?” Have you just… not have had therapy for your abusive nature? How do you deal with your “idea of having dominance” in public/at work? You wanted to be dominant over girls when you were, like, 4?
In short, what?
Look, I wasn’t trying to be inflammatory or anything, just giving you my perspective on things.
Making a blanket statement against any group of individuals is bigotry. I’m sorry you have had bad experiences with some people, and I’m sure some racism can be stemmed from bad personal experiences as well.
I, too, have been told I am abusing my kids by the mere act of coming out as trans. I’ve been told to kill myself. I reported those messages on my profile to steam, and their accounts are still active.
I’ve been called a liar for telling my story, telling only the truth, because trans people are terrible, manipulative rapists in their eyes.
So, yes, I feel your pain. But don’t perpetuate the stereotypes about anyone, please.
Some on both sides of that coin take it very seriously. Some think, “Yeah, all cishet men are shit!” And the others, who have seen that type of shit in person are like “Yo, wtf.”
Maybe I’m just a stick in the mud, but “jokes” like that are as funny as those who spout nazi bullshit or “kill trannys” or racist bullshit as “jokes” to me.
Why, though? Isn’t that discriminatory?
It isn’t even that complex if you are doing basic forms. Literally plug in numbers from a document that gets mailed to you January 15.
These are just private companies that typically fleece you out of a percentage of your income tax return.
My ex made us file taxes using “experts” for 17 years, even though I proved to her I could do it myself, and came up with the same numbers the “experts” did, because “they insure you if something goes wrong”
It’s a scam. TurboTax, Jackson Hewitt, it’s a scam
You’re right, that title would have been much less wordy if “United State of America’s Internal Revenue Service, the government department responsible for collecting taxes” was added.
Different strokes for different folks
They wouldn’t be paying one person more based on where they live. They would be paying a fair rate based on a formula using miles of commute and current gas prices. Everyone would be paid the same rate. If someone works less hours, is it unfair that the person that works more gets paid more? No, they are being compensated for time, just as the commuters should be compensated for their time and maintenance on their vehicle.
Is it fair that the people that live farther away should have to pay more to come to work that those who live closer? Its not fair to me who has to pay sooo much more in maintenance and gas!
Previous smartass paragraph aside, paying both more doesn’t solve the problem. This isn’t about who is getting paid more. It’s about giving everyone the same tools to succeed. And if I am paying 100$ more a month, I’m making 100$ less a month.
That’s fair. The majority of the world isn’t Sweden either. Not sure why OP brought country up to begin with, just saying “bring it up to your union” isn’t exactly a universal experience either.
Nor is having the opportunity to be within walking distance of your place of employment. Some people live in more rural areas because the cost of living is lower, and that is what they can afford. I speak from experience. I think a universal “cost of transportation” would be helpful to the populous in general. Who foots that bill? The employer. They need you to make their product after all. You shouldn’t need a second job just to make it to your first job. Your first job should be able to pay for all of your expenses, including transportation to and from the job.
That’s cute that you think America is unionized. Many, many places do not have unions or support for their workers past base things at government level. More often than not, we are shat upon and expected to thank our corporate overlords for the opportunity.
No, not at all. Just sad cuz nostalgia is all. Cool he wants to travel and meet fans of him and the franchise, it’s just… Again, kinda feels like a bit of a travelling sideshow attraction is all. Maybe it would be better if he retired is my point of view. It would bother me to be reduced to what feels like a circus act or county fair attraction. “Come see the Bearded Lady, after that, get Charles Martinet’s autograph!” Ya know?
Edit to add: at the same time, I do get that this is apparently Martinet and Nintendo wanting to continue to work together. Hell, maybe I should take my nostalgia glasses off. He gets to travel the world on Nintendo’s dime, and get paid to do it. Probably not too bad of a retirement I guess.
It’s just a shame he’s been downgraded to what appears to be a sideshow piece. I mean, if he’s happy doing it, more power to him. He’s been Mario for, like, 20 years? Good luck to the next Mario. Those are some big overalls to fill.
If you are going to chess tournaments, you are past the point of getting your ass kicked in chess club. I said it on another thread, but if people are being demeaning and unsportsmanlike, they can get kicked out just as you would any other game. They do it for MTG, YGO and Pokemon TCG tournaments. Bullshittery about trans people aside, this is more of a systemic issue than anything else.
My apologies. I still don’t understand. Are you suggesting that women are too fragile to deal with men’s posturing, or what? It’s fucking chess. Unless someone is arguing there are blatant skill discrepancies between men an women, it still doesn’t makes sense why there are divided tournaments. Is the argument women are less strategically minded, or what?
Why is that the metric you use, and not the policies they have? Just because plack people are too smart to live in the frigid north doesn’t mean the South is a great place to live
I know the pun here, but my mind just went to a crass, horrible mermaid that just casually drops slurs.
