Chicken marsala pappardelle! Super tasty and surprisingly quick and easy. https://www.saltandlavender.com/chicken-marsala-pasta/
Just skip the 1/4tsp of garlic powder, it shouldn’t suffer for that. Odd tip, I found the marsala wine in the baking isle of the grocery store of all places.
I picked up a 3lb bag of frozen filets from Costco. Ended up being 6 USD/lb which isn’t bad at all considering ground beef is at least $4/lb. I was looking for something a little healthier, and fish cooks up really quickly. The lemon garlic one from last week turned out pretty well, picture below. The recipe also called for paprika and thyme, not sure I would add those in the future.
Tomorrow is pasta primavera, inspired by another post on this community. Later in the week my boyfriend is making tater tot casserole with chicken bacon cheese sausage homemade by his family. Friday is blackened tilapia with roast potatoes and I’m roasting a chicken Sunday because it was on sale. I’ll probably do broth with the carcass sometime next week. We had originally been planning to enchiladas Sunday, but those got crowded out by the unexpected chicken.
Yep! I’m honestly loving the chaos. It’s been really interesting to see all of the organic growth happening at such a visible rate.
You’re absolutely right. I’ve been learning a lot about portion control in the last year or so as I’ve been working on losing some weight and that’s a very effective method.
I don’t expect the duplication to be too much more of an issue here than Reddit. The only big difference is that duplicate forums can have the same name here. I mean, how many meme subreddits were there? At least for me on beehaw, when I search for communities it shows how many subscribers there are. In this period of rapid growth, it’s certainly a bit of a crapshoot and you may need to regularly search communities to see if any take off, but I expect in the next month or so, some communities will become large and their duplicates will pretty clearly die, just like with Reddit.
Mmm. Big fan of the cheese/crackers/salami combo. Except that it somehow always ends up turning into dinner so I can’t do it every day.
Great execution from your girlfriend. How did you like it?
You inspired me to put pasta primavera on this week’s menu. Looks great! And it’s the best feeling to be able to cook with food from the garden. Tastes better too.
Thank you! I’m looking forward to trying it out, and I definitely will try roasting a duck as soon as the weather gets a little less hot where I am. I don’t like balsamic, so I’m thinking of trying with soy instead? Not sure how it will affect the flavor profile, I might be better off doing a mix of hoisin sauce and rice wine vinegar or similar to still capture the sweet/acid rather than going salty instead.
