Just watched a SomeOrdinaryGamers video about this a couple days ago. Muta gave Nothing too much credit saying the texts etc would probably be encrypted. But lol “plain text”. They crazy for that.

I have definitely come across accounts sexualizing breastfeeding. Especially on Instagram. It’s so fucking weird and gross in that context.
Gotdamn yall. Some men think it’s hot, some men don’t. Some women do wear makeup for others, some women don’t. More broadly, no one group does anything for a single reason so we need to stop being so combative online about shit posts.
I mean, there are states that will deny someone a firearms license if they have been to a mental facility within a certain period of time. Even after that amount of time is up, you have to take a psych eval before being able to reapply for the license. So, the way I see it, what I’m saying isn’t too far off from being implemented.
Honestly in this last one I think the proper authorities really dropped the ball. As soon as this guy went into a mental facility he should have been flagged for having guns and steps should have been taken to restrict his access to them. You’re using a very broad brush to paint all gun owners one way when it’s absolutely not the case. Some people take self defense extremely seriously. Look out at human history. Look out at the natural world. Killing is a serious constant in life. If you want to see what people are capable of when one group of people have guns and another doesn’t, look at Israel v Gaza. Look at slavery. Small groups of people can control large groups of people solely for having guns. So coming back to self defense, the gun is the greatest equalizer, unfortunately. I believe in having smart, efficient, and effective gun laws, but at the end of the day I only put 100% faith in myself for protecting myself.
I think everyone I’ve talked to who carries a gun hopes to never have to use it in a life or death situation. I love guns and hate people who use them to kill.
Hotel? Trivago.
I’ve never seen a fact this hard in my entire life
Too late
I don’t understand how you’re separating the the generated artworks from the AI that’s generating the work, but I do see your point. If a company puts out a tool for free I don’t think they should be on the hook for someone using that and creating a product. At the end of it all though, I think whoever has made any hard financial gains should should payout whoever contributed.
I don’t see how AI training couldn’t be considered transformative as the whole idea is to consume input, break it down into data, and output something new. The way I’m understanding what you’re saying is like this: Instead of only paying royalties when I try to monetize a cover song, I’d have to pay every time I practiced it.
I appreciate your responses, thank you!
How is training AI with art on the web different to a person studying art styles? I’d say if the AI is being monetized in some capacity, then sure maybe there should be laws in place. I’m just hard-pressed to believe that anyone can have sole control of anything once it gets on the Internet.
I read this title last night and thought it was a story about AI making an amalgamation of MrBeast and Stephen Hawking to shill iPhones
I used to have Snapchat and Instagram downloaded on my phone and the amount of pointless notifications I got from those was staggering. I can only imagine what it would be like if you have more social media on top of that. Same with Uber eats, they CONSTANTLY send notifications. I got so sick of checking my phone so often that I turned off all notifications, then deleted apps, then put my phone on 24 hour do not disturb + grayscale everything. It’s kinda hard to break the constant phone check cycle, but it’s changing!
Idk the Saudis seem hell bent on creating them
I switched the day after Boost went dark. The only times I go on Reddit are when I Google something and a reddit link comes up. Lemme definitely isn’t a 1:1, but I kinda like it more because the user base seems better quality. I’ve made more posts/comments in my few months on Lemmy than I did in my few years on Reddit.

Valid points, I see what you’re saying. Speaking to “by default 40+”, I guess I’d rather see better enforcement for the laws in place before making the laws stricter for everyone. I am a big fan of what Paris is doing though. Making “peaceful zones” where they’re closed to through traffic. That doesn’t really solve the problem for traversing the entire city though. Gosh I wish we can just fully overhaul the city’s infrastructure to have such good public transportation that I don’t have to worry about needing to drive my car to get anywhere in an adequate amount of time.
I apologize if I made it seem like speed is unimportant. I agree with you completely that speed is a factor. But also, if a driver is going 40+ mph, they’re already going above the speed limit and breaking the law. What I’m trying to get at is that having cement medians between bike lanes and car lanes will solve more problems vs ticketing. I mean the amount of people who get tickets, don’t pay, get a suspended license, and still drive is huge. The way I see it is that speeders are gonna speed regardless of the limit, so putting physical barriers between the cagers and the bikers is a more effective solution. I mean I’ve seen a stretch of Wicker Park where there’s a cement median separating the lanes and there’s no way a car can get over it (in most circumstances).
This whole situation happened so fast and it confuses me
