    The layer of plastic has to horrific in the geological record. I imagine future people studying it and doing lectures like,
    Here in this layer you can see when they discovered atomic power. But just after that we find the true demise of the ecosystem with the earth engulfed in plastic.

      A lot of plastic breaks down after 500 years, so…they’d have a helluva time finding anything not broken into nano particles or hell, at that point, something likely would have evolved to eat it more efficiently than we have now, very similar to how oil was made in the first place, when trees had nothing to break them down yet so they just compacted on top of each other over time.
