My home assistant external access went down and I found the culprit to be that the DDNS service I set up on OPNSense only seems to be working for the main domain, not the wildcard or the other subdomains I have.

I’m not sure I’ve entered subdomain details in correctly:

How do I enter wild card or subdomains in Opnsense ddns?

    Yes:

    Account XXXXXXXXXXXXX [cloudflare - wildcard] failed to set new ip XXXXXXXXXXX [{"result":null,"success":false,"errors":[{"code":9000,"message":"DNS name is invalid."}],"messages":[]}]

    Suggests the * is not a valid way to set the wild card.
