A few days ago one of my drives in my Unraid array reported errors and was no longer accessible. I immediately installed another drive that was intended to extend storage capacity, and assigned it in place of the failed drive.
I let Unraid do its thing, it rebuilt the failed drive data onto the new drive and parity was restored.
Afterward I ran another party check which passed.
Then today I ran an extended SMART test on the failed drive, which passed without errors.
What does this mean? Could have been just a faulty cable or connection, right? Or should I worry and run more tests? Can I safely use the drive for the array?
