I like going to karaoke bars with my friends, but so many songs have problems:

  • They’re fun for the first 2 verses and chorus, but then they keep going, or
  • They include some really long instrumental break in the middle, where I just have to kinda tap dance

What are some karaoke songs that don’t have these problems? Looking for songs that are

  • short: Below 4 min if possible. Maybe even below 3?
  • no instrumental break

Thanks Lemmy!

If you don’t want to be allowed on the stage again: “The pope song” from Tim Minchin is a bit over 2 minutes and has an over 30 fucks/minute score. And it only has a 2 second instrumental break.

El Sonidito by Hechizeros Band is always a good one.

Edit: If you really want to kill it at karaoke and nobody’s picked it, do I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys. The whole room will sing along.

Convoy by C.W. McCall is my go-to “fine if I have to karaoke” song. Fairly short, no long instrumental breaks, it’s fun, and absolutely no one sees it coming.

I would never have thought of that, but it would be awesome!

I’d like to be able to pull off “Classified” by C.W. McCall. Two and a half minutes of slightly melodic, high speed storytelling. I think Convoy would be more well known and far easier.

The shortest song I ever found at a karaoke place was You Suffer by Napalm Death. It’s 1.3 seconds long.

I remember seeing this song for the first time on a reddit thread like “You have to sing a complete song from memory, which song would you pick?”. That guy pulled a galaxy brain move.
