I’ve lived all of the country including SC, and these were just a normal part of life. If you were close enough your home could be in danger, you could usually hear it from inside.
Cell notifications are nice. But storm alarms like this for flooding, fire, tornadoes, anything saves lives.
We can’t just rely on one method, this is a clear example where redundancy is a positive.
