Cautiously optimistic sounds about right for the Lions. There’s been a lot of improvement over the past couple years, and the other teams in the division have either not done much to improve or taken steps back in the offseason (especially Green Bay), but the other division teams haven’t taken a regular season snap yet this season. It’s too early to tell if this is the Lions’ division to lose like all the talking heads keep proclaiming it to be. Right now they’re the trendy pick, but if things happen such as Love becoming even an above-average but not superstar QB or the Vikings’ defense takes a big step up under Flores, the Lions may still not find themselves running away with it.
