Because when this shit ends, Netanyahu is probably going to jail. Or at the very least, being ousted as a disgrace to humanity. So of course he’s going to prolong the genocide. it’s the only way he can hold power.

why anyone in the US thinks they can trust him to negotiate in good faith when he’s been dicking them around the entire time is beyond me.

We cannot use one atrocity to justify another atrocity. (or several atrocities, as the case may be.). because otherwise the bloodshed never ends. Netanyahu and others might be okay with that… but that’s because they’re genocidal maniacs and assholes.

The US has had no problem getting rid of certain politicians in other countries before. While I don’t generally condone the action, I can comfortably say I’d look the other way if he fell down the stairs. No atrocity, that.

I know it won’t happen, but I can dream.

I think the Israelis arrived at the conclusion that allowing Hamas and Gaza to return to the previous situation would just mean the bloodshed never ends. It’s an illusion that Bibi is some kind of dictator without majority support

Eh. he was nominally elected, yes. however, IIRC before the Oct 7th he was getting into some very hot water over actions stripping power from the courts; and it was very difficult for him to actually form a functional government.

Sure, but what I mean is that his hypothetical replacement will be just as unlikely to stop the war
