Contactless payments through Google Pay not working still remain a deal breaker for many, though there’s not much that the GrapheneOS devs can really do as the ball is more in Google’s court.
It’s because most banks support Google Pay instead of using their own app. It’s perfectly possible for banks to not use Google Pay. A few banks here don’t support Google Pay, instead you have to download their app to use nfc payments.
So basically all major features now work on GrapheneOS. There is no reason not to switch.

What about an open source pay. I’m happy to not use Google apple or Samsung.
Why can’t I use my bank to transact with the vendor. Why do Google or any company need to be involved.
Similar with Bitcoin. They hold out a code to scan. It sends Payment details.
Where do tech companies get involved. I assume they get a cut. Cut out the middle man. Let me pay the retailers with my numbers from bank
