  • I’m not sure what drivers are like where you live, so maybe our standards are different haha.

But pretty much everyone hates these streets. Drivers hate how narrow they are. Cyclists hate weaving between cars and pedestrians, and pedestrians hate being the least protected things on a street full of fast moving vehicles trying to kill them.

The fact that rich assholes in Tokyo are starting to buy huge American sizes SUVs as status symbols is making the problem worse too.

At the end of the day, the best thing for every city is to make it as inaccessible as possible for personal cars, and make sure pedestrians and cyclists have their own delineated spaces for transport.

  • You don’t know what we hope[1][2].

Is word salad still on the menu?

Russian “imperialist aggression” isn’t what this was in the first place[3][4][5][6].

This is what I’m talking about.

When presented with two truths, you’ll accept the pro-Russian one without criticism as it’s what you want to believe.

    Your logic is:

    West = bad
    Russia is anti-west
    Russia = good

For example, I bet you believe every dubious claim made about genocide in Donbass from pro-Russian sources, but you probably believe Bucha and Mariupol are false flag attacks made by “Ukrainian Nazis”

Not because it’s the truth, but because it fits your worldview.

    Unsourced my ass:

Thank you, why couldn’t the article have actually linked this instead of a reddit thread??

Also how relevant are cold war documents to today’s situation? Ukraine was part of the Soviet union when this document was created. Do you really believe the KGB wasn’t producing similar documents? Look at the “Foundations of Geopolitics” a book that is actually still influencing Putin’s decision-making today.

  • “A negotiated end to the war” probably doesn’t mean “surrender unconditionally” as many .ml residents hope.

Ending the war without rock solid security guarantees just leaves Ukraine open to further Russian imperialist aggression in the future.

And as a side note, can I also confirm if the bar for evidence is so low in this instance that unsourced grainy scans of documents posted on tankie Reddit subs are considered authoritative?

  • There needs to be evidence of NATO aggression against Russia for me to actually try to defend it (which I wouldn’t anyway)

So you believe western volunteers are mercenaries?

What would you call Russian prison battalions, kidnapped indian students and north Korean regulars?

Do you know how tiny 100km² is in comparison to the entire of Ukraine?

The reality of the war is a sparsely guarded Frontline across hundred of kms of empty land that frequently changes hands.

Ukraine also still holds land in Kursk according to current osint.

  • Unclear when IMF interference demands for austerity were known.

I think you’re conflating two separate issues. The IMF was not involved in trade talks between the EU and Ukraine. It was when Ukraine was seeking loans but Yanukovych didn’t reject to ratify the EU bill because of the IMF.

CIA/US state propaganda operations to fabricate that opinion, was done purely for nazification and warmongering purposes

    To what end goal?

Is it so hard to believe that given the choice between closer ties to the EU or a gay hating, poverty stricken state run by robber barons and oligarchs, Ukrainians might have preferred the EU?

The idiocy of the public makes them resort to their programing.

This isn’t a fair argument, I could say the same thing about you, and you could say the same about me. How can we find truth when we both believe the other is simply regurgitating programming from some shadowy propaganda source.

I’ll ask this: Do you feel yourself entrenched in these views or are you actually open to changing them through discussion?

    immediately massacred opposition in Odessa,

    This didn’t happen though.

    removed Russian language rights

    This also didn’t happen.

  • Let’s look at this from another perspective.

Russia has completely failed it’s “special military operation” in Ukraine and is bogged down in a war of attrition with a nation that is not in NATO.

NATO countries are supplying a trickle of arms to Ukraine, but without a single NATO boot on the ground, without a single aircraft carrier, Russia has been stopped in its tracks and has failed to complete the majority of it’s military objectives, having even lost actual Russian territory to Ukrainian counter offensives.

Clearly Russia would not stand a chance if NATO decided to invade them.

So that begs the question, if you believe NATO wants to invade Russia, and it’s clear Russia couldn’t stop them, why haven’t they?
