so small and yet so loud
i’ve recently been started doing One Meals a little differently. i now get a big pan and add in basically every kind of food i should be eating throughout the day (fruits, vegetables, eggs, tofu, etc.) and cook it with a bit of oil and seasoning. i then add a bunch of spicy stuff to mask the taste, and sometimes add in yogurt to make it last longer and undo some of the spicy. i can then just scoop this into a bowl and heat it up in the microwave anytime during the day when i get hungry. it’s still One Meal, but it now lasts upwards of 3 days and i nibble away at it as needed.
i will also not be attending his inaugural lunch. i bet that will show him
you drive a hard bargain
i agree with what you’re saying and i think we’re mostly on the same page here. i just felt it would be worth saying that, from my perspective, the point of the fediverse isn’t to compete with those websites but instead to be an alternative to them. it’s to offer a picture of what social media can be like without dark patterns, extreme surveillance, and constant enshittification. and there is a really comfort in that. it feels really nice to not have to worry about a website or app getting worse every time i use it.
i also feel like the people on here tend to behave more thoughtfully (in general) than people on reddit and other for profit social media websites. and it wouldn’t surprise me if that was in part due to the absence of dark patterns making lemmy feel more relaxed and less high stakes. there’s also a bit of a small town feeling on this website that i kind of like too.
can i be the dog
imagine my surprise at learning this comment came from lemmy.ml

how does elon even have time to play video games if he’s the most busiest and hardcore guy of all time?

i always happy to recommend new tv shows. recently i’ve liked
some of these are stronger than others, but i enjoyed all of them and thought they were quite good. i also tried to make the list have a decent range. also my experience has been that the netflix descriptions of tv shows are just universally pretty terrible and i probably wouldn’t have watched many of these shows had i paid attention to the description.
that’s pretty sick. i should start blowing up my food too
same here. as soon as i got the speakers set up i closed the app, never to open it again. i would have done this anyway, since i like to have all my things in one place, but the app certainly didn’t do itself any favors here
my experience has been that those kinds of shows are more likely to have characters that behave like high schoolers. more drama, impulsiveness, etc. i also find it frustrating when i’m watching a show and the characters do things that, in my opinion, don’t make any sense. i also don’t enjoy it much when the major plot points are about high school relationships.
i’m sure there are many shows that don’t fit into this characterization i’ve described, but my experience has been that they tend to be the exception rather than the norm. and there are only so many shows in the world that i will have time to watch. i’m not trying to say that shows about high schoolers are objectively bad either, just that they aren’t for me, in this stage of my life.
i don’t need to know what a vitamin is in order to eat things that have vitamins. to be honest i don’t even really know what calories or protein are, but i probably still eat things that have them. and vegetables too.
my personal rule is that, now that i’m an adult, i will generally not watch or read anything where the main characters are high schoolers. it has served me well
