  • Everyone knows he’s guilty. His supporters just don’t care that he did it.

His supporters are Conservatives. They believe that the law doesn’t apply to some people because inequality is ‘good’ and ‘natural’. And they also believe that inequality will be in their favour, even if they live precariously on or near the very bottom rung of society.

Conservatives are most often the people who would (and, increasingly, in a country which got rid of royalty, do) support something like the Divine Right of Kings to do what they want. “Because somebody has to be in charge,” they will say, while imagining the ‘wrong’ kind of people being rounded up.

    Insert Wilhoit’s Law here.

  • I love how it’s a bit of a stretch to back legalising a substance which has become legal in a fair number of states without any issue (that I’m aware of).

How many elections before a candidate is praised for saying something like, “I, unlike the others, am prepared to accept that the populace generally believes that vegetables are part of a healthy diet?”, because we live in a world where the vast majority of candidates are just saying any old stupid shit that is viral on social media.

  • It’s an absolutely shitty, irrelevant single issue IN THIS ELECTION because there’s no meaningful difference

Human lives are not an irrelevant issue. You pretending to rationalise otherwise makes it clear that you would happily be rationalising voting for Trump, as long as it brought benefits to you. “Yeah, well, he might oppress queer people and immigrants and women, BUT he would lower business tax and I’d make a profit.” (Unless, of course, you’re not rationalising, and you just don’t care about when people who aren’t you die).

I don’t solely care about what’s best for me. I care about other beings. That you don’t agree is of no interest to me, except to make a mental note to not take on board your sense of morality.

If, as you say, these two candidates are so similar when it comes to protecting innocent lives, I won’t vote for either of them.

But you damn well already fucking knew that, so quit your bullshit strawmanning.

You’re so angry that I’m not voting for Harris. I can imagine you easily pivoting to be angry I’m not voting for Trump. You present absolutely nothing of interest to me, as you are motivated solely by what you prefer. The chance of you making the world better, at this moment, seems to be zero.
