I finally got a steam deck and I can’t decide what to play on it. Most recently I dusted off Hand of Fate 2 and I’m having fun with that all over again.
When I got my Steam Deck a few months ago, I spent the first week or so just modding Skyrim so I could play it on yet another device. Then I played it a ton until I finally took a break for some other games.
Started playing MGS:V again and slowly becoming depressed that there hasn’t come anything better in the last seven years
Re4 remake scratches some of the metal gear itch
I’ve decided to get specifics trophies on Kingdom Hearts 1FM, the no new gear one and the no continue one. If I’m motivated enough, I’ll try the platinum but nothings for sure.
Mario RPG remake. Actually my first time playing Mario RPG altogether, but I do really enjoy the first couple Paper Mario games, so seeing essentially where the Paper Mario series came from adds to the interest (IIRC, wasn’t the original Paper Mario known as Mario RPG 2 in Japan at least for a while?). The game feels very short, I’m only a couple hours in and already three stars in, but given it was originally a SNES game it makes sense. It’s cool to finally experience a game I was jealous of as a Genesis owner instead of SNES as a kid, even if it’s not 100% to the original, though from what I understand it’s quite a faithful remake, so still pretty close to the original experience.
On mobile, Shattered Pixel Dungeon. It’s brutal. I’ve made it down five levels once or twice. I’m determined to win with the fighter before I start with another class.
Just completed Cocoon, short game, excellent 9/10. Puzzles aren’t too hard but mind bending. It doesn’t get quite as tedious compared to other puzzle games once you solved it in your head and they break it down to smaller chunks.
Only had 1 difficult puzzle in the entire run near the end, because of a long section between revisiting a certain area.
Started Brotato as a break from Starfield. It’s… a good distraction to say the least.

I’ve been playing Starfield almost daily since release on Game Pass. I would much rather play on PC with mods, but its a super mediocre game and I’m not ready to pay anything close to full price for it when I can play on Game Pass. I really hope they release some better content for it over the next year or two and then sell me a complete edition on PC and I’ll start again with mods to get rid of the BS if they haven’t already done so in future patches.
