For those unaware, Freakazoid was a short lived Saturday morning cartoon that had Ricardo Montrlban, Ed Asner, Jonathan Harris, Tim Curry, and Craig Ferguson as part of the cast.
The show came to be when Spielberg suggested to change their original serious Batman-lilensuperhero drama into something funnier. The writers didn’t know what direction to go in (according to the DVD audio commentary) which is why it turned into what I would call either random humor or stoner humor that many early YouTube videos did.
A show that was more likely, to use the phrase “ahead of it’s time”, as this feels like a show that fits right at home with late 00’s internet cartoons
Loved that show. Made no sense. Didn’t matter.
They were pretty much winging it the whole time 😄
I love someone thought Norm Abram would be the best guest for their final episode.
Hell yeah, Freakazoid was great
When he goes to the freak-a-lair and picks out a freakmobile and says “ooo! This one! Because it runs!” I die laughing.
Also, I had no idea that was Craig Ferguson. He called poo gas crud vapors!
Andrea Romano was the best casting director of the time. The actors in the WB shows, Batman, Avatar, and the Boondocks are all thanks to her.
She was also big into having all the actors in the same room instead of recording separately.
