      It’s the lack of competition.

Similar to how you see gas stations on opposite sides of the street charge the same price.

There’s a gentleman’s agreement not to compete on price so everyone can make more money, except the customers.

“Still”? LOL, this is just the beginning. Just wait till it’s a special occasion to have beans with your rice.

Climate change isn’t just going to make people uncomfortably hot. It’s going to annihilate the food supply. Right now what we’re seeing is mostly greed, but in 10 or 20 years shit’s going to get real. I don’t think people realize how fucked we are.

    …sorry had to vent.

Ugh. An it is not like a single USA Presidential election, regardless of who gets in, is going to fix this.

I only planned on building and living in a small two floor A-frame w/hobby farm, that’s such an extravagant thought, it feels ridiculous to even consider now. I only planned on buying 1.5-3 acres.

If you’re in a relationship and intend on having children, make sure you can keep working during pregnancy or substitute your dual income until birth. At least if you had home ownership dreams that I once did.
