Great video by Jake Kaminisky showing how a good sight picture and aiming process works. For new and experienced archers alike or for anybody who just wants to know how archers do it!
- How is your sight picture and aiming process different?
- What do you like about how he outlines this here?
Good vid, nice way to show differences in sighting. I shoot compound and sighting the target instead of the pin is the right way to shoot.
Yeah, this was a concept that I found really hard for the first few years I was shooting and ultimately led to “target panic”. I shoot barebow, so I don’t have a pin, and use the point of my arrow as reference, but part of my shot cycle is the defocus away from the point of the arrow and on to the target.
Definitely a good video and this is basically how my dad taught me to shoot. I focus on the target and then let the sight get in between my eye and the target.
Definitely feel the nerves comment he made. When the blood starts pumping when a deer is 20-30 yards away, its tough to keep still!
