How fast do Lemmy instances copy content from each other? I can’t access it from my instance yet (22 minutes after this post was made)
I’ve actually been wondering this myself and haven’t gotten an answer yet. At any rate, the workaround we found over at lemmy.pt is pretty reliable:
- Go to the Communities page on your home instance
- In the search box, search for
!community@server.domainso in this case!wine@lemmy.world, with the exclamation mark at the front. - Wait like 10 seconds and search again for just the name of the community, so in this case
wine.
This seems to be a way to force your home lemmy to “learn” about the remote community at which point you can subscribe to it.
hey I’m also having issues accessing this community from lemmy.ca. It doesn’t seem to appear in the search communities function. Any idea?
I’m stumped, not sure what I can do without help from the admins to look into it
