It was being heaving rumoured in the paddock during the Belgian GP that AlphaTauri could run Red Bull’s RB19 for the 2024 campaign.
Such a move, if true, would see a massive performance boost for the team with the current car, the AT04 being the slowest car in the grid.
Just taking the RB19 and painting it is AlphaTauri’s colours isn’t an option.
The FIA banned such practices in 2010 and the Listed Team Components on the car must be a teams own work and can’t just be copied from Red Bull. It’s why Racing Point’s Pink Mercedes turned so many heads in 2020.
Even if AlphaTauri do design the listed components by themselves which includes the survival cell, front impact structure, roll structures, brake ducts and bodywork they would still have a huge advantage over their closest rivals if they use the RB19 as base for the 2024 car.
If the rumours are true and the car is approved by the FIA it could catapult AlphaTauri to finishing consistently in the points in 2024.
Source? This makes no sense at all.
“Alpha tauri might do this thing that they definitely won’t be allowed to”
Agreed. This is a very sensationalist take on some old news. Where did the OP’s write-up even come from?
RB/AT have been saying for a while that next season AT will use some components from RB per regulations, instead of completely developing their own car. This is no different than how Toro Rosso was ran and they certainly weren’t identical to RB.
They’re allowed to use all but like 7 parts that they must make themselves. If they take everything but red Bull except those it would still launch them far forward from their current situation
So why didn’t they already do this? For their supposed ‘sister team’ its a very weird strategy to go it alone when they didn’t need to.
The sister team wanted to try and develop and stand on their own, it hasn’t worked out and so red Bull is taking over the shop to straighten things out
Ok, guess that actually makes sense then. Well heres hoping they get in the mix with an already exciting mid field down the line.
So… It says they could do it, but then it says they are not allowed to.
How does that work?
The Listed Team Components must be a teams own work. But even if they comply that regulation the FIA could still stop it. But if they don’t there would essentially be 4 Red Bulls on the 2024 grid.
Haas pretty much is just an undeveloped Ferrari though. Something like that?
Same as haas yeah, buy all the allowed parts from the main team and the second team makes the few parts required with “no help” from the main team on that for sure
Please provide a source for any of this. Right now I’m assuming you just used chatGPT to make shit up.
They’re just going to source the allowed parts from Red Bull basically exactly like they used to do with Toro Rosso.
To think that will equate to a RB19 is a bit insane in my opinion. They will likely improve, but still be a mid midfield team like they used to be with Toro Rosso.
How does this equate in real life though? People often say that Haas basically uses last season’s parts and they’re at no where the level of 2022 Ferrari.
If I’m perfectly honest I can’t see this helping Alpha Tauri a huge amount.
In 2021 AT was using a lot of previous year Red Bull parts and it was their best season
