SPORTS! SPORTS IN MY LEMMY FEED! HALLELUJAH, IT’S A WONDERFUL DAY!!

(I wish there was more sports engagement on Lemmy, it’s one of the only things that I go back to that other cesspool of a place to look at.)

There’s a whole server dedicated to sports at fanaticus.social, but hardly anyone uses it. I have no idea why. I tried, but, like you, I felt like I was yelling into the abyss.

There are a lot of communities but they’re just not super active. Id make posts but I’m much more of a commentor.

Because he wanted a lot of money, and the Vikings pretended like they weren’t going to give it to him.

Who knows if it’s true, but there was a rumor that the Vikings wanted to trade up to draft a WR. Could have been a lead up to a trade of him… But it’s speculation. But that is the answer to your question.

That rumor was thoroughly put to bed by reporters on the inside pretty much the moment it started to spread. Could’ve been a tactic by his agent pushing for more money or another team that wanted him. The trade-ups the team attempted were for Drake Maye (failed) and then for Turner (success).

JJ gets his record-setting money and Kwesi continues to make up for his first two years as GM. Been an awesome off-season for Vikings fans. Now we watch and hope it translates to us finally hoisting the Lombardi trophy while JJ’s still here.
