    At this point in history, I think we’re counting down the days to the closure of satirical news sites like The Onion and Babylon Bee because real news is too crazy that it all sounds like a satirical news article.

    Pull a little silly and just keep slighty moving the buoys further up the river every night and see how far they can get before someone notices

    At first I was all “Can’t they just swim under it?” and the article said the buoys would have webbing under the surface. So then presumably they could just cut the webbing. So odd.

      I’m not quite familiar with the Rio Grande river and what lives there but couldn’t this cause a lot of issues for the wildlife in the river as well? Like if anything is migrating up and down it couldn’t the barrier just block them from doing so?

        Very likely, yes. This whole thing is being done without a lot of thought other than appealing to a specific demographic of voters.
