Hope this comes close to the quality of Stellaris!

I don’t think Star Trek works as grand strategy, the lore is too restrictive to really allow for both player choice and the “star trek” feel. ST would be best as an action/adventure game, I think. Basically, fly around to different planets with different themed adventures while building crew relationships just like the shows. Resurgence was supposed to be something along those lines, but it looks disappointing.

Birth of the Federation worked pretty well I think. It was basically MOO but I thought that they made it work with the lore pretty well.

Yeah, the strength of Star Trek would better fit an adventure. But maybe they are Mixing elements into the game or add a nice campaign. If it really comes down to being just a Stellaris with Star Trek skins, i would be a little disappointed. There the main focus lies on the planets, ships and captains are totally replaceable.

I highly recommend Resurgence, but ONLY for the story. It was a nice little Star Trek adventure, but the game around it is lackluster and buggy. Some of the set pieces are gorgeous though.

Very much looking forward to this. If it’s like Stellaris then there’s plenty of potential for it to feel Trek like with mysteries to investigate as well as the action and political elements.

I’ve never managed to get into Grand Strategy games, but I might be willing to give this one a try. All of the Star Trek games on Steam seem to have awful reviews, so I hope this turns out to be a good one.

Haven’t seen the presentation yesterday, but read a snippet somewhere that it’ll be a mobile game. Do we know the platforms already?

Ok what is this? I see Paradox, I see Star Trek, I am excite. But the landing page and teaser trailer give me literally nothing.

      I feel the same.

What kind of game is it? Paradix usually make grand strategy games so it’s going to be some sort of Stellaris?

Paradox isn’t making this game, they’re just the publisher. Nimble Giant Entertainment are the actual developers!

Well now this I’m interested in. Very interested. Paradox has made some dangerous games for me. This is definitely joining that list!!

Looks like a Stellaris spin-off. I hope it’s good, but to be honest the phrase “Star Trek Game” makes me think something more along the lines of Faster Than Light. Paradox spinoffs have a bit of a mixed record, (EU: Rome, March of the Eagles, Sengoku), though I think it’s more that those games were decent but forgotten.

A Star Trek flavoured FTL game sounds fantastic. Let me unlock a Bird of Prey by hiring only Klingons and boarding at least 50 enemy ships.
