What they did to Christian Selig (Apollo dev) is unforgivable. I refuse to use that website without Apollo on mobile. Their CEO slandering the developer and being caught lying was the last straw for me. It was my main social media, but I’m now totally deleted including the account itself.
I’m new to Lemmy, but it seems great so far! I’ve also left Twitter and joined Mastodon which was an easy change due to getting to use Tweetbot again revived as Ivory for Mastodon. Incredible app. It would be a dream to see Christian revive Apollo as a Lemmy client.
Anyway, yeah. Happy to be here, but sad about the circumstances that forced me to leave Reddit.
Has anyone reached out to Christian about repurposing Apollo as a lemmy client? I’d be willing to pay for the app again. Certainly there would be a lot of work for him on the backend, but I would imagine the front end of the app could be repurposed.
I reached out to him on BlueSky. I’m betting he’s feeling a bit overwhelmed right now.
I know he said he wasn’t interested in going into competition against Reddit. But Apollo repurposed as a Lemmy client would be cash and i would ABSOLUTELY keep my sub going for it.
Deleted my 13 year old account this morning as well. I’m sure the executives all have golden parachutes, so it doesn’t matter if or when they fail. But they will fail.

Yes, thank you. I was on my phone (using RIF of course) and wasn’t going to try to screw around with their mobile website trying to find it again!
Yeah I am changing all my comments and then deleting them all (submission/posts).
It’s been a good run for the past decade… but I gotta stand up for something.
I’m deleting my 8 year old Reddit account. I’m done. I’m new to Lemmy, but I already like it more.
I’m not quite there yet but I’m sure the day will come.
Smaller communities make for more personal interaction. I quite love the fediverse. Mastodon is great too if you’re into microblogging.
Thanks for the tip about Power Delete, Ive been meaning to dip into shreddit but didn’t have a good setup for it. This one was painless.
